After a week’s break, Harlequins Ladies are back in league action with three blockbuster fixtures against London rivals taking place this January
Aiming to extend their sensational winning streak to 11 consecutive matches, the squad have the opportunity to climb to the summit of the table as we enter the business end of the 2018/19 regular season campaign.
Following their dominant victory against Worcester Valkyries at Surrey Sports Park in December, the side faces three of their London rivals in a potentially season-defining run of fixtures before the international break.
Saracens Women, Allianz Park, Saturday 12th January (kick-off: 15:45)
After their dramatic victory against title-holders Saracens Women in Round 6 at The Stoop, Quins have the chance to secure a season double against last season’s champions when they play them on Saturday. A victory at Allianz Park would see the visitors can go joint top, with a bonus-point win guaranteeing the top spot.
In the same fixture from 2017/18 Quins managed to narrowly get the better of Sarries by 31 points to 29 away from home. Despite a tough opening ten minutes, the Ladies rallied thanks to tries from Holly Myers and Shaunagh Brown, and a consummate kicking display from Ellie Green. This win meant that Harlequins Ladies went top of the Tyrrells Premier 15s table - something they would like to repeat in 2018/19.
Richmond FC Ladies, The Stoop, Saturday 19th January (kick-off: 15:00)
In a re-run of last year’s record-breaking match, where over 4,500 spectators descended on The Stoop for a UK women’s club match, Harlequins Ladies will face their historic rivals Richmond FC in Round 15 of the tournament.
Having already beaten Richmond in Round 7 at The Athletic Ground, this fixture falls at a crucial time in the season for Quins in terms of their play-off aspirations, and is not one to be missed.
For Members, this match is included in your 2018/19 Membership, but you must claim your seat beforehand. For non-members, tickets cost £10 for Adults and £5 for Juniors and can be purchased here.
Wasps FC Ladies, Twyford Avenue, Saturday 26th January (kick-off: 14:30)
After their victory against Wasps at The Stoop Round 8 thanks to a dominant forward performance, Quins head to Twyford Avenue looking to secure a regular season brace.
In the final match before the Six Nations international break, the squad will be looking to consolidate, and potentially extend, their league position before the tournament returns in the final week of March.
Harlequins has launched The Game Changer for their final Tyrrells Premier 15s match of the 2018/19 campaign when they face Gloucester Hartpury at The Stoop on Saturday 30th March (kick-off, 15:00).
