'Thank you for a humbling and overwhelming week'

Friday, 11th January 2019 @ 20:00

Mike Brown penned an emotional thank you to Quins supporters and rugby people across the UK who have been congratulating him on his appearance record

It has been an incredibly humbling couple of weeks for me as I have had the good fortune to break the all-time appearance record at Harlequins.

The number of messages I have received via social media, on email and on my phone from friends, family, supporters, fellow players, former players and coaches has been quite overwhelming and I would like to thank each and every one of you for your kind words.

As those that know me will understand, I am not really one for ceremony and gestures, preferring instead to get out on the pitch and let my rugby do the talking but believe me I am very grateful to the Club and its supporters for the past couple of weeks.

Of course I could only have celebrated bringing up my 308th appearance for the Club with a victory so it was pleasing to get such a good win at Newcastle last week. It was a great team performance and one that showed what this Harlequins team can achieve in the future. It is a future I am very excited to be a part of and I look forward to making many more happy memories with Quins in the years ahead.

Thank you again

Mike
